This 18th century Yorkshire Wolds farmstead, close to wonderful Filey Bay, nestles in three leafy acres packed with wildlife, sculptures and curious collections. Walk deserted beaches, cycle quiet lanes or just soak up the rural bliss and enormous skies. Choose from an eclectic collection of snug glamping accommodation with cosy log burners and quirky touches everywhere as well as a pretty light filled cottage, an airy apartment and two bright fresh studios.

• General information

  With the Yorkshire Wolds, North York Moors and Yorkshire Coast on the doorstep and beautiful York less than an hour away, the location can't be beaten for exploring this stunning county. The summerhouse, overlooking the kitchen garden offers glamping on a grand scale, the Big Yellow Caravan is a retro, german caravan hideaway perfect for nature lovers, there are three cabins for two in an idyllic woodland setting, an imaginatively converted grain store and finally the treehouse, a romantic cabin for two in the trees. Light the log burner and get cosy in winter or gather round the fire pit to enjoy summer evenings. Most of the accommodation sleeps two but groups of friends are welcome also. Each accommodation accepts one friendly dog.

• Accommodation

  3 woodland cabins, 1 twin and 2 doubles, ideal for couples or a group of 6 friends. Pretty shower room shared between the 3 cabins. You can bring your dog. Proper beds with bed linen provided. Wifi, log burner, barbecue, chimenea, electricity included. Each cabin has a deck.

  The summerhouse has brass double bed, a large open plan living and sleeping space with separate fully equipped kitchen and shower room. Huge log burner, towels and bed linen included, TV. Dog friendly. The summerhouse overlooks the kitchen garden and has outside seating.

  The romantic treehouse sleeps 2 in a double bed. There is a living room, bedroom and shower upstairs and downstairs is the toilet and a quirky outdoor kitchen. All towels and bedlinen plus barbecue included. Dog friendly. Lovely decks upstairs and downstairs.

  The Grain store is an ingenious conversion of an old grain silo and enjoys stunning views from the deck across adjoining farmland. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen, cosy living area with logburner and proper shower room. Upstairs a snug sleeping platform in the roof space.

  The retro caravan has original interiors with all mod cons including cosy double bedroom, spacious living/kitchen area, separate modern shower room, large private sunny deck overlooking farmland. TV, Wifi, bedlinen and towels included. Dog friendly.

• Facilities

  The accommodation is self-catering but you can also enjoy a breakfast picnic delivery service. Most of the accommodation sleeps 2 but small groups are also welcome. In addition to the glamping accommodation there is also a pretty 3 bedroomed cottage, an loft style apartment and 2 self-catering studios. All the accommodation is dog friendly (one dog only). There is free wifi and parking on site. You can even have your wedding at Dale Farm in their lovely courtyard.

• Things to do onsite and nearby

  The farm is situated in a rural location ideal for walking and cycling (bike storage available.) The village of Hunmanby, well equipped with shops and pubs, is a mile away and the pretty Victorian seaside town of Filey only a 10 mintes drive. Filey Bay is a five mile sweep, voted best beach in Britain by the Sunday Times in 2019, and can be accessed at Hunmanby Gap. Nearby Cayton Bay is reknowned for surfing. The cliffs at Bempton are famous for watching seabirds. Dalby Forest is close by offering world class mountain bike trails. The beautiful and deserted Yorkshire Wolds are much painted by David Hockney. The North York Moors steam railway and the City of York are also easy to reach.
